A note on our February concerts

Tuesday, 5 February, 2019 - 08:44

The month of February 2019 has a few exciting GYPO appearances in store for our classical music loving audience.
As a joint effort of the Foundation of the Music Empire (Zenebirodalom Alapítvány) and the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra, we await to Richter Hall members of the youngest generation on February 5 to our show entitled "Music making families".
Italian conductor Attilio Tomasello is to be our guest again to present a performance of the Arthur Nikisch season ticket series called "Verdi and Puccini". Mr. Tomasello introduced himself to us all when he conducted here the stage version of Bizet's opera "Carmen" just over a year ago.

As the title of the show suggests the program includes ever so beautiful arias composed by two of the greatest masters of the Italian opera genre sung by two outstanding singers, Georgian-born Iano Tamar, and Italian Vittorio Vitelli.
Our usual Carnival concerts are promising to be good fun again, this time in Dunaszerdahely, and Mosonmagyaróvár
As an event of the Károly Flesch series we invite you to the University Hall (former synagogue) to enjoy the only string quartet by Claude Debussy as well as some opera exerpts by W. A. Mozart a little differently this time (February 17), performed by a small wind ensamble.
Concluding the February events we'll have a very special lying ahead. In fact there is not one but three (Győr, Veszprém, Sopron) concerts scheduled with GYPO conducted by Zsolt Hamar, music director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Soloist of the evenings is a remarkably gifted artist representing the young pianists of Hungary, Fülöp Ránki. The Győr concert is to be recorded by the "Bartók" radio station so those who can not come to Richter Hall will be able to listen to it at a later time.
