Upcoming Kantharos wine auction / gala concert alive and well
Highly successful charity and fund-raising concert combined with wine-auction is coming up for the 13th time on April 3, 2025, again at the Győr National Theater like last year. Like always, this fun-filled event is sponsored and supported by major local civic organizations, established wineries, the Győr city council, and the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra. 
The press conference of this charitable event was held on the chandelier-level of the Theater. Founders of Kantharos, Antal Riegler, and István Tagai, greeted those present, then expressed their hopes that the proverbial "number 13" will bring good luck in April. Last year a record 50 applications were received from those in need for help and chances are that this number might just be exceeded in April. As mentioned above the Győr city council also supports Kantharos, as mayor Bence Pintér himself confirmed it during the conference. Councillor in charge of cultural instiutions, Róbert Borsi, added that the hard work of the event organizers, the sponsors, and the people of Győr were all essential to make Kantharos widely known as a prestigious program by now in Hungary.
Thanks to the proceeds of the gala, more than 100 million forints in total were contributed to help make dreams come true in the past 13 years. The goal remains the same : help children in difficult life situations, communities embracing them, and exceptional talents to be cultivated.
This year marks the 13th time when Győr civil organizations hold hands and open arms to present this charity concert combined with wine auction. The main protagonists of the evening are the members of the Győr Phil, and, of course, some of our country's most renowned wine makers who traditionally introduce themselves and the special items they offer up for bidding.
"Great music for great wines, great wines for great music" - promises GYPO 's general manager, Géza Fűke who already foretold us that the star group of next year's (2025) Kantharos will be the famous Hot Jazz Band.
The noble causes of the Kantharos Gala can not only be supported by bidding for items to be auctioned but also by simply purchasing tickets for the event at Richter Hall's ticket office.
